Deb was sitting at drafting tables and easels before she could walk, the daughter of an architectural engineer and a fine artist, problem solving and visual artistry are literally in her blood.
In 1997 she received her Bachelor of Science in Design from the world renowned DAAP program at the University of Cincinnati. Upon finishing her studies she was promptly recruited by Walt Disney Imagineering for her visionary spatial concepts and visual artistry. Deb branched out to work on high end hospitality, residential, and mixed use projects throughout Southern California. Her years of work as a lead designer and project manager at a boutique Los Angeles interior design firm gave her professional experience in all aspects of the craft - client and contractor relationships, concept design, construction documentation and detailing, furniture and finish selection, specification, procurement, and installation. And she loves all of it, though as her clients and colleagues will be the first to tell you, she’s a “spatial savant”, and her unique gift is her ability to envision and sculpt space.
Deb launched Studio DDK with a focus on high end residential and boutique hospitality design. She thrives on the challenge of transforming houses into dream homes, meticulously piecing together every element of these complex puzzles, to craft personalized and inspiring spaces.
She's not all puzzles and designs, though. Deb also loves to travel extensively and has the goal of experiencing every continent - Antarctica included! Most recently, she was in Southern France and Corsica, finding inspiration in the enduring architecture, memorizing the Mediterranean hues, and improving her French.
